Description
“Palanka / Mamma” is a tribute to the women who carry the world on their shoulders — and never stop giving.
Inspired by the African and South American women I’ve seen in cities like Kinshasa, Lagos, Kampala, Bogotá, and Salvador, this piece honors mothers who provide for their families with strength and grace — often alone.
But it’s more than observation. This painting is personal.
When my father passed away, my own mother became everything — the provider, the protector, the foundation. Her love and sacrifice live in every brushstroke of this work.
This is for the women who feed nations, raise generations, and do it all with beauty and resilience.
